Our Management Team


The day-to-day running of the Clinic is managed by our Clinical Director, Hospital Director and Director of Nursing. They bring together a wealth of experience and skills from clinical, managerial and nursing backgrounds to ensure the smooth running of the Clinic.

Clinical Director

Dr Lalitha de Silva MB BS FRCPsych DPM

Dr de Silva trained at St George’s and Charing Cross Hospital, London. She held a substantive NHS post in Berkshire for over 20 years. She set up a specialist Eating Disorder service in Berkshire and was the clinical lead for the service as well as being a Clinical Director of the Trust for 5 years. She had a major role in teaching and training and was a senior examiner and clinical tutor for junior psychiatrists and regional advisor in continuing education for senior psychiatrists. Dr de Silva was a medical examiner for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and is a medical member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal.

Hospital Director

Christine Harrington

Christine Harrington has worked at Cardinal Clinic since 1997, firstly as Accounts Manager and since 2006 as Hospital Director. Her career before joining the Clinic incorporated both management and finance in a variety of environments, including Investment Property and the Hotel Industry. She deals with the business side of the Clinic, incorporating finance and also the provision of hotel services. Her responsibilities include ensuring the buildings and grounds are well maintained and she acts as Health & Safety Manager for the company. Christine is also the Clinic's registered manager and in this role is responsible for ensuring that the quality of care the Clinic provides is of the highest standard and meets the requirements of the Care Quality Commission and other regulatory bodies.

Director of Nursing

Ken Sealy

Ken joined Cardinal Clinic in 1979 as a senior nurse having spent several years working in the NHS. Ken was at the forefront of developing training programmes and worked to ensure trainee nurses received the highest level of tutoring and mentoring.

Ken helped to support the development of Cardinal Clinic from its early infancy to the present where the Clinic is now recognised as a leading provider of independent mental healthcare.

Ken was a Non Executive Director to the Board of Royal Berkshire NHS Ambulance Trust.

In 2006 Ken was promoted to Director of Nursing at Cardinal Clinic. His responsibilities include ensuring the Clinic delivers high quality patient care as well as contributing actively to the Clinic’s management team. Although he has a demanding role, he still enjoys patient contact and retains a very ‘hands on’, active approach to nursing.
