Professional profile: Dr Leslie qualified at Birmingham Medical School, did a GP training scheme and became a partner in general practice.

She trained in psychiatry at Charing Cross and at The Royal London Hospital and their associated hospitals. She has been a consultant psychiatrist since 1992 and currently works in the NHS in West Berkshire.

Psychiatry has always interested Dr Leslie “as it is wonderful to be able to see people return to health. The families also benefit, as mental distress or illness always affects those close to a person, not just the sufferers themselves. I involve the families and listen to them whenever possible”.

Dr Leslie likes to take a broad view of a person’s health, and her training and experience as a GP contributes to this. With her help, and that of the clinical team when needed, the lives of many patients have been changed for the better.
