Background Information

Professional profile:

Julia first trained as an Occupational Therapist specialising in mental health and the impact of illness on the family. She went on to train as a Systemic Family Therapist and worked for Child and Adolescent Services in Berkshire for over 10 years. This was an opportunity to develop a specialist interest in the impact of parental mental health on the child, eating disorders in adolescence and fostering and adoption services.

In 2006 she completed a qualification as a Family Therapy Supervisor and provided consultation to local counselling services and other professionals.

In 2009 Julia took up a new NHS post in Westminster as part of the Sure Start early intervention services in the community and works for the Core Trust which provides a drug and alcohol day programme supporting families living with addiction.
