Lucy qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2001 and has been working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health services since this time. She currently has two NHS posts; one in a local CAMHS based in Dorking, Surrey and the other in an Adolescent Day Service. She has also worked in an under fives service and an In-patient Adolescent Unit. During the past 10 years Lucy has worked with a number of children and their families. Presenting problems have included Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Eating Disorders, self harm, sleep problems, feeding difficulties, and Developmental Disorders. She undertakes work with families as well as individual patients. Over the years Lucy has developed a keen interest in PTSD and has trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR, Level 1 and intermediate, 2005). She also has particular experience of working with adolescents who have complex mental health and social care needs. Lucy offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy but also draws from systemic theory and particularly Narrative Therapy.
