Dr Wilkins has worked in independent practice for over 20 years and now devotes all his time to his psychiatric practice in Windsor and London. He has a holistic approach concentrating not only on symptoms and medical treatment but also on lifestyle, diet and other aspects of life including work and relationships.
Dr Wilkins is a General Adult Psychiatrist with a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders especially when complicated by substance misuse and personality or behavioural problems. He has jointly set up the Cardinal Clinic's Bipolar Disorder Service.
Dr Wilkins has had research interests in a variety of areas but most recently in mental health in the workplace. He regularly involves employers on how they can improve the work environment to the benefit of all employees, not just patients. He has given expert evidence regularly at Employment Tribunals.
Dr Wilkins has had accredited forensic psychiatric training and routinely provides expert reports to all Courts and other legal settings.
He provides training for the Mental Health and Mental Health Capacity Acts.
