Background Information

Professional profile:

Dawn Adams is a Clinical Psychologist (registered with the Health Professionals Council) and Chartered Psychologist and Chartered Scientist with the British Psychological Society. Dawn specialises in undertaking neuropsychological (also known as psychometric and cognitive) assessments of thinking and learning in children and adolescents and individuals with learning disabilities.

After completing her first degree in Psychology, she went on to successfully complete her PhD in Psychology at the University of Birmingham. After publishing and presenting her results to national and international audiences, she went on to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton where she undertook her elective (specialist) placement in paediatric neuropsychology.

Curently Dawn divides her time between Cardinal Clinic, research and teaching on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate course at Royal Holloway, University of London and research at the Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders, University of Birmingham. Here her work was focussed upon the cognitive and/or neuropsychological and behavioural profiles of individuals with rare genetic disorders associated with intellectual disabilities.
